Quite a challenge!

Writing every day seems quite a challenge, but I have made many observations in the garden which have not been documented here. I will work my way back through old pictures, identifying unknown species by posting to iSpot, a wonderful site run by the Open University, where an online community can help to identify most things, or confirm your own identification. The more you post the more you learn!

I will start with this shield bug (or not!):

At 10.02 it was identified as Stictopleurus punctatonervosus, not a shield bug at all! Once a rarity, it is now becoming established in south and central England.
