Toadflax Brocade nursery

I had toadflax brocade (Calophasia lunula) caterpillars on my purple toadflax (linaria purpurea) last year, so I have been looking out for them this year. I found one in June, but it soon disappeared (bird food?). On checking the plants today after a few days away, I counted 10 caterpillars at various stages of development.

They are surprisingly difficult to spot, as the maturing seedheads are black, and spaced similarly to the black markings on the caterpillars. Their favourite foodplant is the common toadflax (linaria vulgaris) which is yellow, so they would be really well camouflaged on that.
